Medical Massage is not a general treatment, but is defined as an outcome-based therapy, designed to produce specific results relative to specific pathological conditions.

Medical Massage requires a physician’s or chiropractor’s diagnosis and treatment plan.  Each case is different, so treatment plans will vary.  A typical initial treatment plan will last 12 sessions and requires detailed documentation.  Each session lasts about 20 to 30  minutes and is scheduled twice a week.

Unlike wellness sessions during which the client is typically a passive recipient, medical massage sessions often require the client to be an active participant, following any instructions given by the therapist.

European Medical Massage employs a repertoire of strokes that evolved from traditional massage.  These strokes enable the therapist to work as deeply or gently as necessary, in accordance with the physiological basis of a client’s condition.

Treatments tend to be pain-free, in order to encourage the body’s innate healing mechanism.

Medical Massage is a service directly requested by and paid for by the client.

In case of workman’s compensation or auto accident the client will likely be reimbursed by the insurance company.  The therapist will provide necessary documentation.

Medical Massage can be helpful for many different problems including, but not limited to the following conditions:

  • Upper and Lower Back Pain
  • Whiplash
  • Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
  • Rotator Cuff Injury
  • Frozen Shoulder
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • TMJ Disorder
  • Migraine
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Scars ( primarily in their first year)
